جمعية الحياة البرية في فلسطين PWLS هي منظمة نشطة والمهنية المنظمات غير الحكومية وغير ربحية تعمل في مجال البحوث والتعليم في المحافظة على الطبيعة بين المجتمع الفلسطيني والمنطقة.


1.1 What is Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS)?

PWLS is an active and professional Civil Society non-profit organization ”NGOs” working in research, education in nature conservation and environmental sustainability among the Palestinian Community and the region.



1.2 PWLSs Background

In 1998, a group of ten people realized they wanted to raise environmental awareness in their region. They decided to form their own environmental organization, the first of its kind in the area. Their dream came to fruition in 1999 with the official establishment of their organization called Palestine Wildlife Society (PLWS). Since the beginning, PWLS has strongly focused on developing clear and strategic objectives regarding environmental educational concepts and conservation of nature and biodiversity. PWLS has proved to be both dedicated and effective in its objective of rising environmental and wildlife awareness.



1.3 PWLSs Headquarters Office

The owned headquarters office of the Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS) is located in Beit Sahour city, Palestine. The headquarters office is a two-story building that includes administrative offices, Environmental Knowledge House, laboratory, multipurpose rooms.



1.4 PWLSs Message

Palestine Wildlife Society (PWLS) seeks to protect species and natural environments and empower communities to achieve positive environmental behavior. While at the same time, seeks to promote sustainable development using resources and supporting animals within human standards.



1.5 PWLSs Philosophy

Our slogan is "Think Globally, Act Locally". PWLS believes that conservation education is the main pillar in the conservation movement. Therefore it has worked intensively in the field of awareness and education with different sections. A result of its success was the inclusion of environmental studies in the national education curriculum. PWLS was part of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan for Palestine in conjunction with the Environmental Quality Authority ”EQA”.



1.6 PWLSs Mission

Palestine Wildlife Society is a non-profit NGO works in partnership with local stakeholders and communities and with international key players such as Birdlife International and IUCN in an innovative way to conserve species, habitats and sites.

PWLS promotes environmental sustainability and empower people for positive environmental change through national, regional and international programs.
